We believe there has never been a better time to make the world a better place.

On Universal Children’s Day, November 20th, we launched Unilever Project Sunlight to motivate millions of people to adopt more sustainable lifestyles. Project Sunlight aims to make sustainable living desirable and achievable by inspiring people to look at the possibilities of a world where everyone lives well and within the natural limits of the planet.

We are starting in Brazil, India, Indonesia, the UK and the US. Project Sunlight brings together a growing community of people who want to make the world a better place for children and future generations.

To mark the launch of Project Sunlight, we are helping 2 million children on Universal Children’s Day. Unilever has an ongoing partnership with Save the Children, UNICEF and World Food Programme:

  • UNICEF - This funding will give 500,000 children across 3,500 schools in India a healthier start in life by providing handwashing facilities and promoting group handwashing programmes.
  • World Food Programme - This funding will provide school meals to 1 million children. Poor households must often choose between sending their children to school or to work the fields. A daily school meal provides a strong incentive to send children to school and keep them there.
  • Save the Children - This funding will help Save the Children to give clean and safe drinking water for up to 500,000 children in emergency response programmes.
