Through Hand Washing
In Brazil, Clovis Boufleur is playing his part to help promote the lifesaving action of hand washing to children. Joining forces with Unilever, Clovis is reaching many local communities and families to help educate them the importance of good hygiene and preventing the spread of germs.
Pastoral da Criança is a Brazilian volunteer organisation that has been in operation for the last three decades. They have made it their mission to improve the lives of children and future generations. Educating the local community on good health practices and hygiene, they hope to reduce the child mortality rate in Brazil. Even with their 200,000 volunteers, the challenge is still great.
Clovis Boufleur leads the pack at Pastoral da Criança. In partnership with Lifebuoy and PureIt, Clovis has been able to expand and enrich his programs to local communities. In only two years after collaborating, Pastoral da Criança has reached and changed the lives of over one million children in Brazil alone. By applying Lifebuoy’s “School of Five” programme, not only have they delivered an important message of hand washing and germs but they have made it a fun exercise and a daily habit!
“I hope that promoting habit of washing your hands will open people’s eyes to the other social problems we are facing, so we can build solutions to tackle them together.”
Clovis Boufleur continues to promote and educate about the importance of good hygiene. However, the struggle is not over yet. There are still millions of children who don’t understand the value of washing their hands with soap. Help us spread the message.
